Before Giving Charity, Make Sure to Do This

by – Sh Haitham al-Haddad

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said ‘Give the sadaqah without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.’ (Tirmidhi)

Sadaqah is a voluntary act of charity in Islam that is performed with the sole intention of pleasing Allah (swt) and without expecting any compensation in return. It is considered a righteous behavior that promotes a healthy and balanced society. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) is an exemplary model for giving sadaqah as he would generously give all that he had to the poor and even sacrifice his own needs to help someone in need.

The Quran and Sunnah repeatedly emphasize the importance of giving sadaqah regularly, and Allah (swt) has promised many benefits to those who do so.
